A metroidvania prototype. Move with WASD or arrow keys, TAB for menu.  Currently, there are only 3 levels but you can make your own ones with the level editor.

Level editor controls: Scroll to zoom, hold middle mouse button to pan, entities are drag n drop. Tile brushes are left click to place, right click to erase. When drag n dropping, hold the mouse close to the screen borders to move the camera in that direction. Export is straight forward, Import (which does not work in Firefox) works like so: Copy the entire content of an exported level and paste it in.
HINT: Don't click cancel if you wish not to import anything, but rather, just don't paste anything into the prompt and click "Continue", or whatever your browser displays there.

Features:

  • Level editor with import / export functionality
  • Character that can run, jump, climb ladders and get hurt by lava :o
  • Basic enemy type, hopping back and forth
  • Shooting enemy type, either walking back and forth or shooting at player if within range. Their projectiles deal damage not only to the player.
  • Annoying, unmutable SFX
  • Tilemap
  • Soft "god-ray" lights inspired by Hollow Knight's lighting solution (not available in the level editor, I'm so sorry)

Known Bugs:

  • As of 14.4.2021, importing levels does not work all of a sudden
  • When you enter "edit mode" in the level editor and immediately click on a drag-n-droppable object (either from the menu or in-game), it crashes.
    • To avoid this, always click on a tile in the menu first, so that you're in "tilemap editing mode" before you drag n drop an enemy
  • Copy pasting text into the import button dialogue doesn't work in Mozilla Firefox
  • When the import dialogue is open and you switch to another tab / another app, it may crash.

    • Best practice: When you're about to import a level, first copy the text, and only then open the import dialogue.
